Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and CVS Ledger ("we", "us") for your use of the CVS Ledger web application and the CVS Ledger Android app (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
1. The Service
CVS Ledger is a household expense tracker. It records expenses you enter, import or sync, and shows budgets, reports and recurring charges. CVS Ledger is not a bank, does not hold or move money, and does not give financial, tax, investment or legal advice.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You sign in through a third-party provider (for example Google). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us at support@cvsledger.us if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Households
Data in CVS Ledger is organized by household. The person who creates a household is its owner. The owner can invite members, remove members and manage billing. Everyone in a household can see and change that household's data. Only invite people you trust with it.
4. Bank connections
If you connect a bank or card account, we use Plaid to retrieve account and transaction data with read-only access. You authorize us and Plaid to access that data on your behalf, and Plaid's own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of Plaid. We never see your bank password. Synced data comes from your institution and can be late, incomplete or wrong; check important figures against your statements.
5. Free features, trial and subscriptions
Manual entry, imports, budgets, the calendar and reports are free. Bank sync needs a paid subscription: Personal (1 person) or Household (up to 6 people), billed monthly or annually.
A new household gets a 15-day free trial of Household without giving a payment method. When the trial ends, bank sync pauses until you subscribe. Your data and the people already in your household are kept.
On the web, payments are processed by Stripe. In the Android app, subscriptions are bought and billed through Google Play. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout, and do not include taxes unless stated.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time. On the web, the household owner cancels from Settings, Billing, Open billing portal. For a subscription bought in the Android app, cancel in your Google Play subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and paid features stay available until then.
Web payments are not refunded for partial billing periods, except where the law requires it. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@cvsledger.us within 30 days of the charge and we will review it. Purchases made through Google Play follow Google Play's refund policies.
7. Your data
You and your household own the data you put into CVS Ledger. You give us permission to store, process and display it only to provide and improve the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can ask us to delete your data at any time; see Delete your data.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful or to track people without their consent;
- try to access another household's data or another person's account;
- probe, scan or test the Service's security, or disrupt or overload it;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, or scrape it by automated means.
9. Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features. We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. Sections 7, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
11. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
